“Thomas Rheingans…. performed two solo works by Ravel, including the sea-swelling "Une barque sur l'ocean" ("A Ship on the Ocean"). With an even, delicate touch, he evoked the sweeping movement of water -- a feat that requires a sophisticated technique.”

“Rheingans’ solo piano performance of George Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue at the 2001 Vancouver Wine and Jazz Festival was spectacular! It brought the house down.”

“.... Rheingans’ keyboard playing carries melodies like a rushing brook.....a tight, swinging, classic jazz sound.”

Wings of the Dove
"Thomas Rheingans is a very gifted pianist. He performs in several genres, but this work, Wings Of The Dove, is an excellent set of original compositions in the New Age style. The liner notes say that these 10 songs are the culmination of 12 years of work. I listen to a lot of New Age stuff, and I only recently heard of Rheingans work. He is not well known, but I would rate his New Age work as being comparable to David Lanz, Michael Allen Harrison, Bradley Joseph, and Michael Jones. There is a depth and richness to his work that makes this CD one I can listen to over and over. The titles on this CD are taken from poems by Shelley, so they're a little cumbersome; the tracks I liked best were "O'er the faint cold starlight of heaven," "So your voice most tender," "As the moon's soft spendor," and "The stars will awaken." This CD is a great surprise."

"I love the way Rheingans gets Gershwin's tunes and rhythms rocking and yet at the same time draws out, with exquisite delicacy, the composer's lovely tendrils of melody."
David
"This may be the best rendition of Rhapsody in Blue that I have ever heard. I will treasure this CD."
Marc
"I like piano, Gershwin, and the combination presented here. Bring it on!"
